Over it

The heart does not know what it is feeling
Moments of pain creep in
Moments of yearning still exist
Why did the past not carry on to the present
What a contrast it has been
Comfort vs awkwardness
Companionship vs loneliness
Oh how times have changed
Desire so strong for things to go back to being normal
What will it take
The past had many wonderful memories
Which makes the present painful at times
If only time could be turned back
For the kindness, devotion and dedication
That have been put in place
There is no balance
It has gotten more tolerable
But still not completely over it
When will it truly end
The answer lies within
